"We stayed at Domaine de Beauvois in mid September 2015. Nice place but rooms smelled damp and moldy, at least the room we had. We had to keep the window open all night, then caught a cold. Would be nice to stay in summer to enjoy the pool. A bit far out I would of rather stayed near Amboise! "

"We have had the pleasure of staying at the Domaine de Beauvois three times now. Our daughter got married here in August and the whole weekend was perfect from beginning to end. The staff were really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely first class and could not be faulted. The chateau is perfect for a special occasion or holiday. "

"My friend and I rented a car from Paris and visited the Loire Valley for 4 days on our way to Dordogne in early April 2015. I meant to review ealier but here it is. We enjoyed staying in the Domaine de Beauvois. It was reaonably priced and quite convinient to many wineries and chateau locations (typically between 15-30 min drive). The manager and front desk were awesome. They provided detailed maps, provided advice, suggestions and made things easier for us along the way. The bartender was really nice and nade great drinks. We enjoyed the prix fixe menu but much preferred the local restaurants for both choices and price. "

"Had a nice sized room overlooking the gardens. Good sized bathroom with towel heater (nice!!). Great buffet breakfast. The staff was friendly, sociable, and helpful. Very quiet location, with good parking availability. Easy to find as there was signage on the main highway from Tours. "

"We stayed in the Domaine de Beauvois for one night as part of a seven-night Loire Valley bike tour. I certainly felt under-dressed walking into this beautiful chateau in my bike shorts! The staff could not have been nicer, and view overlooking the pool and the Loire River took my breath away. The food is the real reason to stay here. Each night you will be served a glorious several-course French dinner that is as much work of art as it is sustenance. Breakfast is also great: A full buffet of almost everything you could imagine would be on a French breakfast table, along with plenty of hot coffee. (Good thing we were biking!) The room we stayed in was large and included a deep tub with shower and plenty of hot water. The only negative was that the pillows were flat and the bed was hard. Not at all the sleeping experience I expected from a 4-star hotel. I found this throughout France, though. I learned to be grateful any time I got a good pillow. The location is great as a base to go see chateaux in the Loire region. The hotel has several smaller common rooms where you can just hang out and relax. I'm sure this place is awesome in the summer, when it's warm enough to use the pool and the beautiful outdoor patio space. Oh, yeah. One more thing: All your friends will be jealous when they see your photos! "

"My husband and I stayed 11 nights in the Domaine de Beauvois. We used it as a base to see 16 chateaux and 8 gothic cathedrals in the Loire Valley region. Agnes Martinaud was extremely helpful with all are needs, had excellent suggestions for the region and made us feel like we were staying with family. The air-conditioned room made a huge difference in our comfort. The restaurant was very good and we especially enjoyed talking to Greg( Christian) in the breakfast room. We would highly recommend this hotel to those who want a central location to visit the Loire chateaux, experience beautiful surroundings and wonderful hospitality! You won't be disappointed! "

"Domaine de Beauvois is beautiful and I thought the charm outweighed the minor touch up needed in places. And as for the food we had a three course meal and it was delightful, my partner said it was the best pudding he ever had! Thanks for looking after us. Only feedback is to have tea and coffee facilities in the room as we had driven over 6 hours from Avignon so a cuppa would have been nice. "

"Beautiful small chateau with an amazing restaurant. Stayed in the Domaine de Beauvois for about 5 days for an anniversary - very peaceful and luxurious, service was great and food was excellent. If you want to eat in the nearby little village book ahead, we tried turning up and nowhere had any space! Only slight downside for us was that it is a bit of a drive to get anywhere, particularly to find somewhere to eat, but that also adds to the peace and quiet! Also I'm not sure how thick the walls are - one evening we turned the TV up a bit as there was a lot of noise coming from the room next door. They then got reception to call us and tell US to keep it down! "

"Fantastic stay! This is a fairy tail Castle, we felt at home....The service is excellent, the rooms and the lobby very confortable. We spend the whole week-end on this beautiful place and loved every moment of it. "

"We pulled up late, in the dark and rain. The Reception clerk popped out with an umbrella and greeted us by name and said he was expecting us! The once chateau and now hotel was great! Our room large with a comfy bed and luxurious bathroom. We had dinner in the dining room which is beautiful with old school, high end service. Although the menu was limited, the food was outstanding! The mushroom soup was heavenly. The wine and cheese perfect and dessert was to die for~ we ordered the mixed sampling of apple desserts. An complimentary dessert tray was also served with chocolates and other treats. It was odd because we were the only couple in the dining room. Domaine de Beauvois seemed deserted except for ourselves and the staff, but it was midweek and not in the high season. The buffet breakfast was extensive with fresh squeezed juices, crepes, eggs, meets, cheeses and a variety of fresh breads and jam. We spent two days here visiting the villages and chateaux of the Valley and loved it. The Domain de Beauvois is a bit isolated, but the grounds are beautiful to hike. We had a car, so it was easy to get around. I was sad to check out and would return, if given the opportunity. "

"I cannot praise this beautiful château enough. We found the staff to be attentive and helpful and loved the setting. The rooms were spacious and clean and whilst our room had some water damage to the fabric on the wall, this did not detract from the beauty of the room. I read many of the reviews before booking and whilst there is some truth in the negative ones regarding the 'musty' smell in the downstairs passageway, this should not detract from the positive aspects of the château. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions and both times we were very happy with the quality of the food and the service. If I have any criticisms to make it would be that the pool was cold (although very clean and well maintained) and the breakfast rather expensive at 20+ Euros each (although again plentiful and very nice). The manager of the Domaine de Beauvois certainly went over and beyond when a member of our group was taken seriously ill. It is this kind of personal and helpful service that you cannot always guarantee and on this occasion was not only kind and most welcomed, but also showed how good service and commitment to the guests can make a difference. We will certainly return. "

"We stayed for 5 nights in mid July. The staff helped book restaurants around the Loire Valley. We booked a hot air balloon ride and were told as we were leaving so early the breakfast buffet would not be open. The night manager brought us tea and hot croissants at 4:50am, a beautiful unexpected surprise. The breakfast waiter gave us a friendly French lesson each morning. We also ate at the restaurant the first night and it was very good. "

"Beautiful hotel with astonishing gardens and exquisite cuisine. The only objection, the wifi malfunction. Service, impeccable. Close to Tours and several castles along the Loire. Marvellous terrace, prívate woods to stroll and a sunny swimming pool in front of its own lake. "

"This is a delightful hotel, old world, but comfortable and excellent service. It is well out of town and you need a car to get there or eat out if you desire that. The room we had was huge and whilst the furniture was old world but in excellent condition there was more than enough for a comfortable stay. It's summer and we found air con unnecessary and just opened the window for fresh air. The building is unique the way it's built and in some corridors you could believe you were in a spacious cave. Lift was unique as you could only access one floor at a time and rooms 100are on the ground floor and rooms300+are on floor 2. Food was excellent and service friendly and efficient. It's worth the stay here and a guaranteed rest is assured. We were very happy with our stay. "

"We stopped for one night on the way back to the UK. A beautiful building in truly picturesque grounds, however, our first impressions, on entering the hotel, were less impressive. A decidedly indifferent 'reception', musty smelling room (genuinely very old stone plus hillside water!), no air con (appears it needs to be specifically requested), and a bland looking menu, (described as 'gastronomic'). But first impressions don't always give the whole picture, and I am happy to say we could not fault the rest of our stay from there on. We upgraded to a charming room with aircon, and enjoyed a most peaceful and relaxing swim in a very clean and gently heated pool. We had a fun wine tasting with Mohamed in the 'cave', who had good knowledge of the local wines, (especially those in the house cellars) and enjoyed an extremely tasty meal. Whilst the menu might have appeared bland, the food was definitely not bland at all, in fact one of the best of our holiday! Not one to change my mind easily, but Domaine De Beauvois managed it. I would recommend staying here, but ask for air con on booking! "

"A winding drive takes you to this lovely chateau just outside Luynes. Beautifully kept and staff very attentive. Ate lunch and dinner on the terrace which overlooked well kept landscaped garden with fountain. We had room in the converted loft area -it was a hot day so glad of the air conditioning. Also the insect screens on the windows a welcome thought as lots of gnats etc buzzing about outside. Wonderful food. Lovely chateau - decor and furnishings lovely. Can't fault it - had a lovely overnight stay and if in the area again will certainly stay. Plenty of parking within their grounds. "

"Tired of routine and want to get away from it all, can't afford fortunes but want real luxury? Well Domaine de beauvois has it all....we love this Chateau! Not pretentious, but sufficiently posh and you will be spoilt. Book the all inclusive dinner package, great value and disregard what you think you like, as food will surprise you here. It is the most consistent and high quality food I have eaten on mainland Europe....we will be back, thanks to all the staff again for making this a fabulous Easter break... "

"We visited Domaine de Beauvois en route from Spain to the UK, the decorations had been put up for Christmas, and looked quite magical. The fire in the salon had been lit, providing a romantic atmosphere. The staff appreciated how exhausted we were and nothing was a problem, unfortunately we had to leave early, but will be back to visit again next year, when hopefully we have more time to enjoy, the staff were amazing, the hotel delightful.
